Development of new chromium fog inhibitor
At present, the development strategies of chromium fog inhibitors instead of PFOS are mainly focused on several aspects: using short carbon chain perfluoroalkyl sulfonate, introducing oxygen heterostructure in perfluoroalkyl carbon chain, and introducing hydrocarbon carbon chain while shortening perfluorocarbon chain.

Compared with PFOS, TDFS has significantly lower toxicity and bioaccumulation potential, which can completely replace PFOS.
In conclusion, low foam surfactants do not require thick foam to cover the entire plating solution, which is more consistent with the development trend than foaming inhibitors. Using biodegradable TDFS type chromium mist inhibitors can alleviate the urgent biological and environmental problems caused by PFOS without changing the existing Cr (VI) process.
